Saturday, February 02, 2002 ::: happy 02/02/02 day no matter what you put first, year, day, month, you can't get it wrong, now since theresa put up this little article on her page I thought I'd share my thoughts. first we read this at school last tuesday and had quite the discussion. first off... who write's that dribble?! 1. fobs don't call each other fobs 2. "CBC Jason Chang, 18, says you'll only recognize a CBC if they don't look FOB." would that not be like saying you'll only recognize a black guy if he's not white?! 3. "Some FOBs like to maintain (Chinese) accents even though they've obviously perfected English," now we discussed this point a lot. STUPID! fake accents are identifiable. no one we know does this, not real fobs anywhy. a lot of fobs just can't speak english! and its not COOL to pretend you have one, if you're a fob there's no point in pretending to have an accent, unless your some cbc posing.... 4. Tommy Wu, 18, says FOBs are proud of their culture and think of themselves as having more "Azn Pryde" (Asian pride). no fobs truly have 'Azn Pryde' this is more of a concept developed by non fob. fobs will consider their culture superior to all others not placing themselves in the same class as other asian cultures. pffft, 'course hk ppl are better than the rest of the world, that's given... oh yea and Azn Pryde is strongest by chiggers. 5. "They are way too proud of their culture and they disassociate themselves with you" if you like noodles, are you going to go out of your way to eat pizza? you do what you like the most, and you hang around people with the same interests! look at all your friends, you share common interests! and don't you tend to not hang around ppl you have NOTHING in common with? 6. "You can be Chinese without being a FOB, but you can't be a FOB without being Chinese." wow, another brilliant comment...
well let's just say that somes up the discussion that we had at SMC tuesday. me and jeremy are in the process of writing a letter to the STAR
Wednesday, January 30, 2002 ::: so I didn't update for a couple of days... cake would be fine, you know I just sit here playing CS, if you have time call me. ya I guess I really don't have much to say. nothing exciting happening to me recently and I wish it would. oh yea, I just completed my first week of admining on the brothel and I'm glad its staying up for a while longer. the LAN is in late feb/march looking forward to that.
